The Role - M&A Head of Integrations
We are seeking a results-driven, analytically minded M&A Integration Leader with expertise leading all merger integration Pre and Post-Close activities to ensure a seamless expansion of the business.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role collaborates closely with executive leadership and management to craft integration strategies, develop comprehensive plans, build 24-month forecasts, and provide transparent progress reports to key stakeholders. The Head of Integration is also responsible for building internal capabilities to support future integrations. This involves documenting best practices, deploying capabilities at the start of new acquisitions, and coaching functional workstreams through integration challenges.
Primary Functional Responsibilities
Develop Integration Strategy
• Formulate a comprehensive integration strategy that aligns with the overarching business goals and objectives.
• Define clear and measurable milestones to track progress throughout the integration process.
• Collaborate closely with management during diligence periods to understand how new acquisitions fit into the business, and craft an integration strategy/ approach appropriate for the business.
• Use knowledge of the deal to establish an integration governance model to address all aspects of the program (functional workstreams to activate, workstream scope, meeting cadence, etc.).
• Lead the Integration Management Office (IMO) and functional workstream leaders through the development of comprehensive integration plans.
• Develop a 24-month budget in collaboration with functional leads and executive team for all acquisitions.
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Proactively drive completion of the integration by partnering closely with functional leaders to resolve integration issues and escalate decisions to management, when needed.
• Lead cross-functional workshops at critical points throughout the integration process to build integration momentum or resolve cross-functional issues (integration kickoff, etc.).
• Develop a detailed integration reporting package to provide all stakeholders with a view on integration progress, value realized, and upcoming priorities.
Change Management
• Drive a comprehensive change management strategy throughout the integration to ensure the business wins the head, heart, and hands of employees as the integration changes how work gets done (training plans, communication strategy, etc.).
• Build an internal integration playbook that will be leveraged in future integrations by the business, refine the playbook after each deal is completed.
Post-Merger Evaluation
• Conduct thorough post-merger evaluations to assess the success of the integration and identify areas for improvement.
• Solicit feedback from stakeholders, both internal and external, and use insights gained to refine integration strategies for future initiatives.
Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, Master's degree desirable
· Must have 7-10+ years of experience with M&A and PMI OR Transformations in the Home Services space
· Proven track record in standing up and executing several post-merger integrations and/or complex cross-functional programs
· Prior experience understanding and resolving function-specific integration matters (systems cutovers, etc.) to ensure tight collaboration with workstream leaders
· Experience leading several projects at once, with an ability to focus on the highest value issues in order to properly manage time
· Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data to make decisions about how to run merger integrations
· Strong leadership and communication skills to ensure collaboration with function workstream leaders, and an ability to engage with management on high-value integration matters
· Experience reporting business results or program results to senior leadership, comfortable collecting feedback on how to optimize integration success
Experience with, and/or strong understanding of, branch level P&Ls and associated cost and revenue driver
