The opportunity
Join Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, as a Fraud Advisor and play a critical role in protecting the integrity of our organisation. You will support the Manager, Counter Fraud, in shaping and strengthening CSIRO’s fraud and corruption controls in line with Government requirements.

Your high-level duties will include:
- Respond to potential fraud incidents through research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and actionable recommendations.
- Partner with the Fraud Manager to conduct fraud risk assessments and implement follow-on actions tailored to CSIRO’s environment.
- Contribute to the development and influence of policies and procedures that strengthen fraud and corruption controls.
- Develop, implement, and review prevention strategies that embed integrity into organisational processes.
- Provide a courteous, responsive, and service-focused approach when engaging with stakeholders across CSIRO.
- Handle sensitive information with care, requiring you to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
- Deliver fraud awareness training as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Role particulars
- Location and office arrangements: Canberra (Black Mountain), ACT, Ngunnawal Country. Other CSIRO locations considered.
- Salary: AU$96k – AU$109k per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation
- Tenure & work schedule: Indefinite, full time. Options for part-time, job-share and flexible work arrangements can be discussed based on needs of role and individual circumstances.

As the successful candidate, you will bring:
- Experience working on counter-fraud or anti-corruption (or a closely related field) in a previous role, with accompanying expertise in government requirements.
- The ability to balance and prioritise strategic and tactical tasks effectively to deliver best value in an environment of finite resourcing.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your message to suit the audience, especially when communicating complex messages to people who are not expert in your field.
- A track record of being a positive team player, supporting an inclusive and welcoming team culture and values, respecting others’ skills and experience.
Desirable
- Counter Fraud and Corruption or Investigative qualifications would be highly regarded.

Eligibility

Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and you must be willing be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Negative Vet 1 level. Existing higher security clearances can be maintained.
