What You'll Do:
The Quality Control Supervisor is primarily responsible for assuring product quality and compliance (raw materials, development products, WIP and finished goods) through the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate processes, people, tools, metrics and goals.
What We're Looking For:
- Directs the activities of the Quality Control Team and supports other site departments as needed.
- Promotes development of the Quality Control Team through the training certification program.
- Ensures the appropriate staffing to support company and departmental objectives.
- Establishes Quality Control testing methods, sampling plans, and control strategies.
- Analyzes product and process quality data to identify and make recommendations for meeting organizational Quality objectives (improved product quality, scrap reduction, complaint reduction, rework reduction, etc.)
- Acts as technical advisor on Quality Control matters.
- Overall responsibility for material release activities and final disposition, including process ownership of the MRB.
- Lead and develop action plans with Engineering, Operations, and Facilities to improve product specifications, processes, and sampling plans and ensure they are appropriate, meeting both system capability and customer requirements.
- Promote operational excellence through concepts including 5S, lean, and continuous improvement.
- Establishes Measurement Systems Analysis processes.
- Establishes goals and metrics related to people, processes and products for the Quality Control Department.
- Provides input to the development of departmental and corporate performance objectives.
- Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality.
- Direct Process Owners for Process Controls.
- Understand and follow the SOP’s and Work Instructions pertaining to the specific area.
- Support customer and regulatory site audits/inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Successful completion of four years of high school, or equivalent,
- Preference given to applicants who have completed four years of college with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in the engineering or science fields.
- Direct supervisory experience
- Experience with Measurement Systems Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Blueprint analysis and Process Validation
- Previous Quality control experience
Considered a Plus:
- Previous finished medical device company experience (preferred)
- Six Sigma Green Black Belt (preferred)
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 (preferred) or other regulated industry experience.
- Lean Manufacturing (preferred)
