Long-Lewis of Hoover is looking for an Automotive Detail Technician who’s ready to grow, perform advanced diagnostics, and be part of a strong, customer-focused service department.
What You’ll Do
Perform accurate vehicle diagnostics including check engine lights, drivability issues, warning indicators, and electrical problems.
Conduct repairs and maintenance, but primarily diagnose on all makes and models—everything from brake jobs to suspension work and basic services.
Use diagnostic tools (scan tools, multimeters, etc.) to identify issues and recommend proper repair procedures.
Collaborate with service advisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and clear communication.
Document all work performed and findings accurately and thoroughly.
Adhere to safety and manufacturer repair guidelines.
Keep your workspace organized and tools maintained.
What We’re Looking For
2–5 years of professional technician experience in a dealership or high-volume shop.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and interpreting codes.
ASE certifications a plus but not required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Pay & Benefits
Flat Hour Rate (FHR): $50–$60/hour, based on experience & certifications
Monday–Friday Schedule – No Weekends
