About the Department
Do you want a job that keeps you on your feet, outdoors, and right in the middle of the action at the airport? Join the SLO County Airport team and play a hands-on role in keeping our airport safe, beautiful, and running smoothly.
This isn’t your average maintenance and operations job - one day you might be inspecting runways, the next fixing an irrigation line, and the next responding to an airport emergency. If you love variety, problem-solving, and the thrill of working in an environment where no two days are the same, this is the job for you!
As part of our Operations Crew, you’ll:
Keep the airport safe: Perform daily FAA Part 139 airfield inspections and report on aircraft and airport operations.
Be hands-on with repairs: Adjust, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, electrical fixtures, plumbing systems, fencing/gates, pavements, and more.
Operate cool equipment: From powered maintenance machines to lifts and vehicles - you’ll get to use it all.
Respond to the unexpected: From fuel spills to emergencies, you’ll be part of the team that jumps into action.
