Description
Do you have sound building construction expertise that’s not being adequately utilized or rewarded? GHP, an architectural, environmental, and construction services consulting firm based in Nashville, TN, is looking for a detail oriented, technically minded professional who loves solving problems while providing day-to-day supervision of construction project sites as the owner’s representative or design-build manager. We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage all aspects of specific construction projects with a focus on planning, site logistics, scope coordination, budget and schedule management, and project documentation in our Denver, Colorado office. The Construction Superintendent works closely with the Denver Location Manager and the Project Manager to ensure that the scope and direction of each construction project is on schedule and on budget. The Construction Superintendent will initially manage local Denver projects but may be required to travel to project locations across the Western United States depending on future projects.
Requirements
As a Construction Superintendent, your responsibilities include day to day supervision of project sites as noted above; management and oversite of contractors’ daily onsite activities; management of multiple parties’ schedules; efficient management of all project documentation and paperwork including RFI’s and Change Orders; attendance at OAC meetings; effective communication of project information to owners, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers; and working collaboratively with entire project team from internal staff to client, consultants, and contractors.
We are looking for a technical expert with strong problem solving, strong leadership, and strong communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; having 5–10 years of progressively responsible in field experience; holding or being on track to hold a General Contractor License; having a proven track record of successfully delivering projects; and understanding how to allocate the necessary resources to meet the project demands.
GHP measures success by meeting deadlines and budgets, client satisfaction and repeat work, team collaboration and mentorship, project profitability and documentation standards, and certification / License attainment and renewal. Additional information critical to the role is the applicant must have a valid U.S. driver’s license, be a U.S. citizen (we are unable to sponsor visas), be available for travel to project locations outside the Denver area, and have the physical ability to be on job sites for extended periods and to lift 50 lbs.
