As a key player of the Financial Services team, Head of Finance Spain owns and supervises the financial accounting and processes.

Main responsibilities include coordination and execution of finance operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial reports, analytics and compliance.

The role is based at AFRYs office in Madrid

Role:

Reporting to Head of Finance EMEA, the main responsibilities include:

Areas of responsibility:

• Produce accurate and timely financial statements (IFRS and Local GAAP)
• Manage Balance Sheet accounts as well as act on discrepancies and outstanding items.  
• Manage and execute month-end close process coordinating finance operations
• P&L variance analysis and reporting as well as ensure accurate Project Accounting within the line of business
• Cash-flow management and reporting
• Income Tax returns and VAT returns preparation and filing
• Act as a business partner to management and financial controllers  and support with needed financial data for decisions or analytics
• Ensure internal controls compliance in accordance with Corporate directives and policies
• Prepare documentation and manage external and internal audits
• Manage local finance team and personal developments as well as performance management
• Liaise with all business areas and external companies to answer finance related questions
• Support implementation of financial processes and ensure adherence to them
• Support and promote digital transformation

Skills required:

• 5-10 years of experience in a Senior accounting position within an international organization
• Bachelor degree in Business Administration (MBA desirable) and/or Accounting Professional qualification (ACCA or similar)
• Fluent in Spanish & English, both written and verbal
• Solid working knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS and accounting procedures including preparing month-end close and forecasts
• Strong financial analysis skills and Excel proficiency
• High integrity as well as good communicator to promote internal controls, policy and global processes compliance
• Energetic, flexible and dependable. Able to work independently and ensure delivery of within communicated deadlines
• Service and results oriented: hands-on attitude, innovative, solver, initiative and strive for continuous process improvement
• Outstanding team player able to lead and promote collaboration
