JOB SUMMARY

The IT Analyst, Laboratory Systems provides production and project support for laboratory computer systems, including system administration activities related to account management, desktop support, computer instrumentation, and troubleshooting with vendor technical support. These lab computers and systems enable BA Sciences to carry out core scientific experiments. The role requires interaction with a variety of stakeholders including laboratory managers, researchers, informatics professionals and IT administrators. A successful candidate will engineer solutions using the best industry practices for security, account administration, documentation and design.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, document, and implement procedures for the support and management of laboratory computers, devices, and laboratory applications.
  • Provide system administration for Reliance, including account provisioning, access controls, user role management, and configuration to support laboratory workflows.
  • Support administration and maintenance ensuring availability, integrity, and alignment with data management policies.
  • Participate in interna/external audits, providing required documentation and assisting with the development and execution of remediation plans.
  • Create, revise, and maintain SOPs and technical documentation as needed.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for laboratory IT systems; engage with vendor technical support to resolve problems and identify root causes.
  • Oversee vendor installation qualifications (IQs) and operational qualifications (OQs); execute performance qualifications (PQs), 21 CFR Part 11 testing, and acceptance testing as required.
  • Administer accounts and roles on stand-alone laboratory computerized systems.
  • Support and maintain laboratory applications, instrument-connected PCs, and associated infrastructure.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and IT point of contact for laboratory computers, Reliance, and software systems; participate in vendor and internal stakeholder discussions for new instruments or applications.
  • Act as the IT lead for the organization’s continuous Data Integrity Program, identifying compliance gaps, defining remediation actions, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and corporate requirements.



REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting laboratory IT systems in biotech/pharma or related regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory monitoring systems, scientific software, and computerized system administration.
  • Experience supporting platforms and administering systems such as Reliance.
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, GxP environments, and data integrity principles.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and increased scope of work driven by organizational growth.
