This role is key to building high-performing teams, ensuring smooth shift transitions, and upholding safety, quality, and production standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support shift team to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture through active field engagement.
- Drive on-time, first-quality production while minimizing waste and downtime.
- Ensure effective shift handovers, issue escalation, and cross-shift continuity.
- Coach team members, deliver feedback, and support skill development.
- Act as the first line of support for operational or personnel issues.
- Promote Celanese’s Move to the Core (MttC) operating model across daily practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Maintenance, Stewardship, Learning) to support operations and improvements.
- Participate in and support key activities (startups, shutdowns, changeovers, upsets).
- Monitor contractor work and ensure safety and coordination with plant operations.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives and problem resolution.
Key Metrics (KPIs)
- Safety: Zero recordables, proactive hazard reporting, safety compliance
- Quality & Reliability: Zero off-grade, schedule adherence, minimal downtime
- Engagement & Development: Goal setting, team reviews, SQRE participation
- Operations: Shift turnover quality, reporting accuracy, field presence
- Continuous Improvement: Sustained housekeeping standards, issue resolution
- MttC Execution: Adoption of core leadership and operational practices
Success Measures
- Strong, visible leadership presence on the floor
- Measurable improvements in team performance and engagement
- Consistent achievement of production targets with high safety and quality standards
- Clear, effective communication across shifts and functions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED Required. Bachelors preferred.
- Required: 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Preferred: 4+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Effective time management and ability to lead in a 24/7 environment
SCHEDULE/SHIFT DETAILS
- This is a rotating swing shift position.
- Includes both day and night shifts within the same week.
- Shift Hours:
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Rotation includes weekends and holidays as part of the standard schedule.
