Fund Controller

We are seeking a detail-oriented, efficient and proactive Fund Controller to own the financial operations for RRA’s fund platform, This is a hands-on role with broad responsibilities across accounting, reporting, cash management, and fund operations. You’ll work closely with the CFO and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in our financial processes.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fund Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee all aspects of fund accounting, NAV calculations, and investor reporting.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with institutional standards.
- Develop and maintain fund-level financial models.
Cash Management & Forecasting
- Manage daily cash operations and fund liquidity across multiple vehicles.
- Lead forecasting for capital needs, distributions, and portfolio activity.
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Manage annual fund audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Oversee tax compliance, filings, and coordination with external tax advisors.
- Ensure internal controls are designed, documented, and adhered to.
Fund Administration & Operations
- Partner with fund administrators, custodians, and service providers to ensure timely reporting.
- Maintain fund records and support capital call/distribution processes.
- Provide operational support to the investment team, including transaction structuring and closings.
Strategic Initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership to shape accounting strategy, processes, and systems.
- Drive process improvements, including automation and technology adoption.
- Contribute to broader firm initiatives as part of a lean, high-performing team.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
- 7+ years of fund accounting or fund controller experience, preferably in private equity, credit, or real estate funds.
- CPA strongly preferred (or in final stages).
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and institutional fund accounting standards.
- Strong background in audit, tax, and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with fund administration platforms and/or BI tools is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable in a lean, growing organization.
- High integrity, detail orientation, and a collaborative spirit.
