Position Summary
As a Software Engineer IV, you will be part of an Agile Scrum team and directly contribute to the creation and maintenance of products that support our business operations. You will participate in Sprint activities, such as planning,
grooming and daily standups to deliver on commitments, continuously improve process and drive positive change. You will apply your skills in Software Development to help the team produce quality, on-time deliverables and apply root cause analysis to track down story bugs and production issues. Using an eye for quality and an attention to detail, you will help us build reliable and fault tolerant, extensible applications backed by unit testing and test automation.
Additionally, you will work directly with Team Leads, Business Users, Product Owners, Functional Analysts and other Engineers to build new projects and support existing applications.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in architectural patterns and comfortable creating enterprise solutions that span multiple tech teams and technology stacks. Conceptual knowledge of multiple technologies is needed to partner with architects, understand requirements, the dependencies between systems and to create reusable infrastructure that links together the entire organization. They will be a partner to our business customers and have a deep understanding of their needs to provide guidance and advise key discussions. By building relationships across the organization, they will navigate complex issues and work across teams to turn designs into actionable implementations. Serving as a mentor, they will build the skills of junior team members allowing successful execution of our technical vision.
Primary Responsibilities
• Partner with architects to understand system design constraints, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Understand business requirements across the organization. Align technical and business goals across teams to create a consolidated view of needs from an enterprise level.
• Provide guidance that focuses on common solutions which are reusable, fault tolerant and enable rapid delivery.
• Proactively tackle technical debt before it grows into a significant and costly problem.
• Work directly with delivery teams to tackle more complex implementations.
• Serve as a mentor and develop understanding through hands on technical coaching.
• Refine standards and best practices and ensure they are followed by working with management and directly
with the team through peer reviews.
• Emphasize working software over gold plated solutions.
• Provide root cause analysis for defects and production issues.
• Strive to produce high quality, on time software by utilizing unit tests and partnering with QA to meet acceptance criteria.
Required skills:
• 10+ years of Software Development experience
• Auth0, Segment, Salesforce Canvas, and DevSecOps expertise
• Experience with project tracking software, such as Jira and Agile Methodology
Desired Skills
• Excellent analytical skills. Able to weigh pros and cons of design choices, including financial impact, provide risk analysis and make suggestions to Management, Product Owners and Team Members.
• Deep understanding of architectural design patterns.
• Broad understanding of technology stacks, communication patterns and creating frameworks that can integrate disparate systems.
• Understands the importance of interfaces and contracts to system design and builds with portability and modularity in mind.
• Can recognize dependencies across teams, work to minimize the impacts and inform delivery schedules.
