The Facilities Manager directs and performs program of maintenance, custodial, remodeling, and security in a manner that will protect the credit union’s investment and support the Shell FCU’s operations objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities                                                                            

  • Consistently meet all Shell FCU Service Commitments; Shell FCU Employee Creed and Shell FCU Service Distinctions.
  • Accountable to maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations required within the scope of duties, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Required to attend annual training sessions as instructed or scheduled.
  • Perform job duties and responsibilities in compliance to SFCU policies, procedures, philosophy, and standards of performance and performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintains mechanical, electrical and controls systems. Coordinates and orders contracted services as needed to accomplish repairs not practical to be done in house.
  • Coordinates credit union wide disaster recovery plan to ensure that all locations are available to membership as soon as possible after a disaster.
  • Using manufacturers’ recommendations and job knowledge to establish and carry out a preventative maintenance program for equipment for which this position has responsibility.
  • Coordinates with branch personnel to determine needed maintenance and supply ordering.
  • Supervises, performs, and is accountable for grounds maintenance, parking lot and walkway maintenance, branch beautification, maintenance of buildings, and for general presentation of SFCU properties.
  • Acts as liaison with city, county, and state, as it relates to fire, security, and occupational safety. 
  • Works with the training dept to hold annual fire drills.
  • Ensures that all locations abide by local fire and building codes.
  • Prepares plans, material lists and estimates for renovation projects.
  • Assesses and monitors facility repairs to ensure cost effectiveness, establishes criteria for repair versus replacement of facilities and holds contractor accountable to ensure work is completed on schedule. 
  • Manages warranty plans at branch locations.
  • Maintain and develop projects in accordance with the credit unions strategic plan.
  • Creates, implements, and maintains department repair and capital improvement budgets; ensures compliance with budgetary constraints; and forecasts and plans facility improvements.
  • Reviews contracts with vendors to ensure that services are being provided within acceptable standards and at competitive pricing.
  • Reviews and signs off on monthly billing of branch utilities; i.e. electricity, water, cable plus any other monthly maintenance billings; i.e. lawn service, cleaning service.  Reviews and signs off on any invoice pertaining to work performed at any branch location.  Approve any invoices up to $1,000.00; any over that amount needs executive approval.
  • Manage and coordinate the facilities team to keep buildings, equipment, mailroom, and supplies in good order.
  • Coordinates inspection and testing of credit union machine and equipment; including generators, HVAC systems, and elevators along with fire and security systems. Accountable for scheduled maintenance.  Key Contact for Inspection records.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience:

Three to five years of similar or related experience.

Education / Training:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

The employee must occasionally lift, and/or move up to 100 pounds, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, operate credit union vehicles and machinery.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust to distances and focus at various distances.

Position may require frequent bending, stooping and walking, work is both indoors and outdoors and exposure to various weather conditions and extreme weather for periods of time, also exposure to dust and harsh chemicals that if not handled properly may present a health hazard.

Working Conditions
