JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform a variety of technical duties involved in the purchasing of supplies, equipment, and services for the District; research, evaluate and obtain related pricing and product information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Procure materials, supplies, equipment, and purchased services required for the operation of the FWCS school system in accordance with established procedures and in compliance with State purchasing laws, rules, policies, and regulations; assure product and quantity accuracy; assist in assuring smooth and timely delivery of goods and services.
2. Compare and analyze bids and quotations; select vendors according to price effectiveness, product quality, delivery time lines and vendor reliability; assist in administration of District procurement card program.
3. Research and evaluate vendors, contractors and other sources of supply; obtain written or verbal quotations and bids; confer and negotiate with vendors concerning price, specifications, product information, availability, deliveries, services and other related matters.
4. Review requisitions and process purchase orders for supplies, materials and equipment; inspect orders to assure accuracy, completeness, proper cost calculations, addresses, and vendor information; obtain correct information and resolve discrepancies as needed.
5. Monitor and maintain appropriate warehouse inventory levels of regularly stocked items in accordance with District needs; review inventory records, estimate supply needs and place orders to maintain adequate supply of stock; conduct annual inventory audits.
6. Prepare price requests, public bids, request for proposals, and related specifications; compile, assemble, prepare and distribute related information and materials; serve as a member of various committees in the evaluation of bids.
7. Compile information and prepare and maintain a variety of records, reports and files related to purchase orders, vendors, inventory and assigned activities.
8. Confer with budgeting, accounting and other District personnel concerning the procurement of goods and services and related fiscal functions.
9. Attend and provide input and information at Board meetings concerning bids recommended for approval.
10. Perform related duties as assigned by the Director to meet the particular needs of the building/unit.

- Flexibility: Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch to perform specific duties.

- Mobility: Freedom to sit or walk at will throughout the work environment.
- Strength and Stamina: Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds or more.
- Outdoor Work: Tolerance of work outside in various weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prefer minimum of Associates degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field plus:
- Three years’ experience in Purchasing or a related field.
- Must have strong office, computer, and oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess knowledge of the technical aspects, methods, processes, principles, practices, procedures, and terminology used in assigned field.
