About the Role

Location: Stanford le hope
Hours: 9am – 5.30pm (Hybrid Model)
How you will contribute:
Convert technical specifications into clear sourcing requirements, ensuring supplier performance aligns with quality, compliance and operational standards across UK Ports and Terminals.
Assist the Procurement Manager in executing procurement strategies and policies, ensuring adherence to procurement procedures by both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Apply the five rights of procurement and value for money principles to all purchases across departments.
Collaborate regularly with DP World Southampton and EU Procurement colleagues to identify and leverage synergies.
Assess purchases based on total cost of ownership (TCO), considering long-term value and lifecycle costs.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure procurement delivers optimal value.
Drive cost savings and operational efficiencies through effective supplier negotiations.
Review and compare supplier quotations, addressing any discrepancies or concerns in submitted documentation.
Prepare accurate and timely invitations to tender, incorporating stakeholder requirements.
Encourage competitive pricing by monitoring market rates and obtaining quotes when appropriate.
Analyse historical versus current pricing, investigate significant variances and take corrective action to maintain competitiveness.
Track lead times and delivery performance, taking proactive steps to resolve delays and enhance efficiency.
Gather and analyse procurement data to support performance targets and continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate procurement records, tracking purchasing activities and performance metrics.
Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing in line with supplier agreements.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- CIPS certification (achieved or currently in progress) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven track record in procurement roles with demonstrable achievements.
- Industry experience in logistics, haulage, or warehousing environments.
NOTE: All of our roles are subject to the below:
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads.
- No unspent criminal convictions.
- Due to manufacturing guidelines on equipment and site safety critical health and safety requirements, we have strict weight and medical requirements that need to be met and maintained. For our safety critical roles health and medical and fitness checks are performed. Requirements include, but are not limited to, weight, height, blood pressure and hearing.
- We may close our roles early, depending on the number of applications received.
