Senior Aerospace Simulation Engineer
Altamira Technologies is seeking a Senior Aerospace Simulation Engineer who possesses a mix of talent related to aerospace modeling and simulation, mission systems engineering, software development, and data science. The Senior Aerospace Simulation Engineer shall support the successful execution of aerospace-related programs and assist other programs as needed.
Location: The position may be located in any of the following Altamira locations: McLean, VA; Denver, CO; State College, PA; Warrenton, VA; or Augusta, GA. This position is predominantly in-office with options for occasional remote/telework.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead development and use of in-house modeling and simulation software in support of relevant ISR programs.
- Act as an internal subject-matter expert for aerospace modeling and simulation development.
- Support data science and mission systems engineering efforts outside of aerospace modeling as needed.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to customers in proposals, written reports, and oral presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in science / technology / engineering / mathematics (STEM), or a related field AND 5+ years of relevant experience.
- OR graduate-level degree in STEM or a related field AND 3+ years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active TS/SCI + CI clearance
- Experience developing and using physics-based simulators to meet program requirements (using either Python, Java, C++, Matlab, STK, etc.).
- Experience with space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) modeling and simulation
- Experience with space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems and/or software engineering
- Experience with data science, machine learning / artificial intelligence, and algorithm development
