JOB SUMMARY

The Industrial Assembler II will work in our Production Department.  The Industrial Assembler II will produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Must be able to follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes.  Responsible for the quality of their output.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Possess the ability to build working assemblies with supervision.
  • Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Ability to assemble/build variac and tap switch components and small sub-assemblies of various products; Small Resonant Test Set (RTS) assemblies (Tank Type); Column Type Variable Transformer sub-assemblies; CTVT Regulators, Variacs, Double and Triple stacks including drive chains and clutches.
  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, manually or with hoists.
  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Prepares work by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates, or readying measurements.
  • Fits and assembles gears, sprockets, drive shafts, bearings, etc.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening pars and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Conserves materials by minimizing waste.
  • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
  • Maintains inventory of completed products.
  • Identifies and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Must be able to complete tasks/jobs within the allotted Job Pack time.
  • Follows safety regulations such as wearing protective face coverings, glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of assembly experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
  • Proficient in math.
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Understand and follow written and verbal communications.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

  • Formal apprenticeship or vocational training as an assembler is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $20.22 - Midpoint $25.27
