The full-time starting salary is normally £35,331.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £39,002.00 per annum.

As the Learning and Organisational Development Officer - Technician Commitment, you will be at the forefront of change that underpins the university’s strategic goals for its technical community. This role is pivotal in bringing our action plan to life, embedding change, and making a measurable impact on the careers and contributions of our technicians across the institution. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, fostering connections between departments, championing best practices, and ensuring delivery against our commitments. Your ability to influence, network, and inspire confidence will be key to shaping a strong and sustainable future for our technical workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the delivery of the Technician Commitment action plan across the university.
- Engage and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a champion for the Technician Commitment, building visibility and momentum.
- Monitor progress, report on impact, and adapt approaches as needed to ensure success.
- Support initiatives that enhance the profile, professional development, and sustainability of technicians.
- Promote inclusivity and celebrate the diversity of technical roles and individuals.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
