Maintenance Technician II/III  - Base Plant - PAR

 

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to: Team Leader - BP

Responsible for: No direct reports

Cambridge

Scope of Responsibility:

As the Maintenance Technician for the Base Plant, you'll be responsible for the effective operation and repair of equipment central to the sulfonation process. This includes, but isn't limited to, pumps, reactors, vessels, piping, and mechanical drive systems. All technicians must work together to ensure the reliability and uptime of the base plant equipment.

 

Your primary duties include applying your hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical skills to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to unplanned breakdowns. You will also be responsible for safety compliance, maintaining accurate documentation in our systems (like SAP), and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Core Responsibilities:                                                       

  • Troubleshoot and repair unplanned equipment breakdowns and perform routine maintenance on automated and non-automated production equipment, including pumps, reactors, and vessels.

  • Fabricate simple machine parts using shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, and milling machines.

  • Manage parts inventory by understanding the storeroom system and following correct procedures for part retrieval.

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and update information systems like SAP.

  • Identify and report potential maintenance issues that require attention and recommend modifications to improve efficiency and reliability.

  • Stay informed about the team's production performance and actively participate in reviews to drive continuous improvement.

  • Adhere to all EHS, Quality, and GMP standards to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

  • Share knowledge and skills with operators to enhance overall plant efficiency and responsiveness.

  • Contribute to a clean and organized workspace, performing regular housekeeping activities as required.

Education:

High School/Vocational school or technical institute required.

Internal applicants must be a Level III Operator or above to apply and pass the Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Series SMT assessment to be considered. 

 

Experience:

3+ years manufacturing or similar experience is required, with a strong background in mechanical or electrical maintenance.


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $ - $ USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws.
