What You’ll Be Doing

The Creator is a versatile content producer who can flex across photography, video, and design needs to serve the mission of BattleCreek Church. This role acts as a one-stop shop for capturing, editing, and producing content that communicates the gospel with clarity and excellence. From Sunday recap photos to short-form story videos to supporting graphics, the Creator helps fuel both in-room ministry and digital engagement. Please note, this role operates on a Sunday-Thursday schedule.  

Your Day-to-Day 

Every day looks different, but here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be up to: 

• Photography 

• • Capture Sundays and events through photos, delivering weekly recap sets. 

• • Maintain and organize photo archives for church-wide use. 

•  Videography & Filmmaking 

• • Film and edit short-form stories (1–2 minutes) highlighting testimonies, ministries, and events. 

• • Provide b-roll and editing support for larger Creative projects. 

• Graphic Design 

• • Step in to create graphics for social, digital, and print when needed. 

• • Assist with resizing/adapting series graphics and seasonal creative packages. 

• • Maintain consistency with brand guidelines across platforms. 

• Editing 

• • Produce engaging short-form content (reels, YouTube shorts, highlight reels). 

• • Apply presets/styles for brand consistency. 

• Collaboration 

• • Partner with Creative teammates (filmmakers, designers, strategist) to execute projects. 

• • Support Communications with assets for digital platforms. 

What We’re Looking For 

The must-haves for this role: 

• Education & Experience: We are looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree (but it is not required) and 3-5 years of professional creative experience across photo, video, and design.  Having ministry experience in a multi-site environment is an added plus! 

• Skills & Strengths: We are looking for someone who: 

• • Proficiency with DSLR cameras, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut/After Effects, and Canva. 

• • Demonstrated ability to flex across multiple creative mediums (photo, video, design). 

• • Strong editing and content creation skills for digital and social platforms. 

• • Self-motivated, collaborative, and passionate about creating content that tells the story of the gospel. 

• • Align with the vision and mission of BattleCreek Church.

Success in This Role Looks Like 

• High-quality content is consistently produced and delivered across photo, video, and design. 

• The Creator can step into filmmaking or design as needed to support the team during high-demand seasons. 

• Storytelling through short-form video highlights how God is moving in and through the church. 

• The photo archive and creative assets are organized, accessible, and leveraged across ministries. 

• All creative output reflects excellence, consistency, and alignment with BattleCreek’s mission. 

The Essentials 

Depending on the role, you might find yourself in an office, on stage, out in the community, or working behind the scenes. Evening and weekend hours may be required—it’s all part of ministry life! 

This role is primarily office-based but may involve some physical activity, including standing, lifting (up to 20 pounds), kneeling, setting up equipment, or prepping for events—sometimes even late at night. Don’t worry; we’ll ensure you know what to expect!
