We’re currently seeking a Dining Service Supervisor to lead our dietary team and ensure our residents receive meals that are safe, nourishing, and made with care.
Position Summary:
The Dining Service Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and coordination of food service operations, including meal planning, dietary compliance, staff supervision, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. You’ll play a key role in enhancing the dining experience for our residents while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Schedule: Rotating shifts, Weekends required
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise dietary staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
- Oversee meal preparation and service to ensure quality, presentation, and nutritional standards
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to meet residents’ dietary needs and restrictions
- Maintain inventory, place food and supply orders, and manage department budget
- Implement and maintain HACCP protocols and infection control practices
- Address and resolve any food service concerns from residents or families
- Participate in menu planning and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in nutrition, culinary arts, or food service management preferred
- Food Safety Certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a food service environment; long-term care experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions common in elderly populations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to resident-centered care
