Scope:
The Accountant ensures the accuracy and completeness of CooperVision’s financial statements and routine deliverables by working collaboratively with team members, management, and internal stakeholders.
Job Summary:
This role supports the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting of CooperVision and its subsidiaries. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, uploading data for consolidated reporting, investigating variances, executing internal controls, and performing other assigned tasks. The position requires cross-functional collaboration and interaction with external professionals. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and team-focused.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Perform monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, variance analysis, and data uploads for consolidated reporting.
- Apply independent judgment to assess the reasonableness of account balances and ensure transactions are properly supported. Recommend or initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports for leadership, sales, and other departments.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across the organization.
- Maintain compliance with US GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
- Support broader initiatives through ad-hoc reporting and presentations as directed.
- Compile, review, verify, and analyze large volumes of financial data, demonstrating awareness of relevant financial statement assertions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with external professionals to support business processes and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- Minimum of 3 years in an accounting or finance role
- Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred, (eBS and HFM) is a plus
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels
- Experience with monthly close and financial reporting processes
- Demonstrated understanding of internal controls, analytical thinking, and problem-solving
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

- Onsite 5-days a week in office
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
May occasionally require work during holidays, evenings, or weekends to meet deadlines
For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $58,478 and $77,970. per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

- Lead the Lease Accounting and Prepaids process in the region.
- Use independent judgment as to whether account balances are reasonable and examine accounting documents to ascertain that transactions are properly supported. Initiate corrective action or recommend solutions as appropriate. Prepare routine and non-routine reports for leadership, sales, and various other departments.
- Drives timely and accurate financial reporting throughout the organization.
- Work to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the success of broader initiatives by supporting ad-hoc reporting and presentations, as directed.
- Compile, review, verify and analyze large volumes of data and demonstrate knowledge and consideration of relevant financial statement assertions.
- Be an active business partner and collaborate with colleagues’ cross-functionally and with external professionals on various work streams and projects to support business processes and strategies.

- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to apply knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge/experience with Oracle (eBS & HFM) a plus

Experience:
- 2 - 4 years in an accounting/finance role
- Experience with ERP systems, with a concentration in Oracle helpful
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is required
