We are seeking qualified candidates for a Sr Distribution Specialist at the Byhalia Distribution Center - 1st Shift- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Subject matter expert on all customer accounts with the ability to assist team members as needed.
- Serves as the backfill for routing accounts in the absence of team members.
- Runs reports in High Jump to assess what needs to be built and/or released for processing.
- Works with distribution specialist to ensure the timely release of orders.
- Ability to review internal documentation (BOLs, audit paperwork, and systemic transactions) to provide an accurate assessment of order status / provide clarity to carriers.
- Load plans and releases truckload shipments for future scheduling
- Obtains bid quotes for prepaid truckload shipments and selects the most cost-effective carrier.
- Maintains weekly truckload schedule by partnering with distribution specialist to ensure loads are ready for shipment.
- Works closely with the onsite Customer Operations Compliance Analyst
- UAT tests new developments that directly impact processes utilized by the specialist team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements of the position include:
- Must be familiar with logistic methodology regarding traffic/carriers/loads.
- Must have strong skills in handling high volume product movement.
- Must have demonstrated ability to professionally interact and communicate internally at various levels and externally with carriers to maintain/improve relationship and service.
- Must have basic knowledge of truckload and LTL freight requirements.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 years of experience in distribution working with sales, carriers, and management.
- Proven intermediate computer skills to include MS Office Suite and Excel
