The Foreman for the Electrical department is responsible for coordinating and assigning tasks to Electrical Assemblers as well as ensuring all resources are available to complete the assigned tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train and instruct new employees on work methods, procedures, and company policies.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance to ensure skills and abilities correspond with tasks to be completed. Suggest development and training opportunities to help employees improve skills and abilities within the electrical department.
- Provide training and insight to employees in electrical principles, problem-solving complex wiring schematics and for troubleshooting PLCs, servomotors, AC/DC drives, control circuits, wire panels, switches, and other devices.
- Establish, follow, and enforce processes and procedures consistent with normal electrical and manufacturing practices.
- Plan and schedule work to ensure proper distribution of assignments. Monitor and document progress of jobs. Ensure all required paperwork is processed in a timely manner.
- Communicate with Manufacturing Manager, Production Control, Engineering, and other departments regarding status of job completion, timelines and priorities.
- Enforce and comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of formal technical training in the principles of electricity and electrical design.
- Two years of journeyman’s experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures from blueprints, schematics and sketches.
- 5-10 years of experience in complex industrial machine wiring and panel building in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory experience a plus.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills so as to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process.
