Kendal at Oberlin is a full-service life plan community which primarily serves older adults in the Quaker tradition. Residents are assured a lifetime of healthcare including short-and long-term nursing services, memory care and assisted living. Equally important, residents enjoy an independent, enriching living experience. 

Kendal at Oberlin's Health and Wellness Clinic is currently seeking a full time, (Monday-Friday: 8a-4:30p) Office Coordinator. The Office Coordinator maintains and enhances Kendal at Oberlin’s Health an Wellness Clinic for our residents by performing office duties including maintaining resident records, as well as maintains continuity of resident care within the Clinic by assisting in the completion of department operations. More specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Preparing and maintaining resident charts using electronic medical records.
  • Scheduling appointments including diagnostic testing for residents to providers located in and outside Kendal.
  • Preparing information to be reviewed during appointments at Kendal or to other providers.
  • Prepares daily charge slips for Nurse Practitioner and Clinic nursing staff.
  • Answering the telephone in a courteous manner and directing calls and concerns to the appropriate member of the Health and Wellness Clinic team.
  • Collaborating with other departments in order to meet resident needs.
  • Assisting to maintain the master schedule for physician, nurse practitioner, and other health care providers in order to facilitate orderly flow of care.
  • Assisting the residents with prescription refills as needed.
  • Assisting the residents to keep scheduled appointments by calling with reminders.
  • Collaborating with the Transportation Coordinator to arrange medical transportation for Kendal community residents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification from an approved program in office operations or minimum 5 years’ experience in the health care field with excellent administrative skills and customer service expertise.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and listening skills and patience to work with the older adult population.
  • Associate Degree preferred but not required.
  • Possesses proficient computer skills and an understanding of electronic medical records (EMR). 
  • Possesses knowledge and ability to fax, copy, and collate materials with accuracy.  
  • Possesses understanding of HIPAA and commitment to practice within those guidelines.
