About the Department
Performs moderately complex, specialized work receiving, prioritizing, researching, and relaying information, producing live analytical support in real-time for dissemination to agency personnel, staff, and other law enforcement agencies. Utilizes information gathered by officers to provide leads and aid in the identification of suspects and the recovery of victims and/or property. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Position Duties
Operates and monitors a public safety communications system and real-time data related to criminal activities that allows contact with police officers and other emergency service agencies in support of in-progress and recently occurred incidents.
Aids patrol officers and investigators in their day-to-day operations within an administrative capacity.
Analyzes crime and traffic accident information, statistical data, reports, and other source documents from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies for crime pattern detection, suspect-crime correlations, target-suspect profiles, and crime forecasting to assist operational and administrative personnel in planning the deployment of resources.
Monitors social media platforms for intelligence and situational awareness.
Prepares records, correspondence, and reports; evaluates, summarizes, and documents investigative findings.
Conducts forensics examinations of cellphones.
Assists the prosecuting attorneys in preparing cases in various courts; provides relevant testimony; assures pertinent facts are presented in a clear, concise, and accurate manner to assist in a conviction.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the minimum necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the requirements of the position, and which also provides the minimum level of qualifications stated below.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Preferred: Three years of experience performing criminal investigative research or information management and analysis work for a law enforcement agency, intelligence agency, government or nonprofit organization, research institution, or an industry-related private sector consulting firm.
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Georgia Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of research concepts and techniques.
Knowledge of investigative and identification methods and techniques.
Knowledge of the use and application of related computer programs.
Ability to understand and execute difficult/complicated oral and written instructions.
Ability to understand and analyze complex problems and situations and adapt quickly; identify reasonable and effective courses of action in difficult circumstances.
Ability to operate cameras, video equipment, and audio equipment used in the collection, processing, and preservation of evidence for court admissibility.
Ability to assimilate information from numerous sources.
Skill in problem-solving techniques.
Ability to organize, communicate, and present clear, concise, and factual oral and written reports and recommendations.
