Registered Nurse – Med Surg - Travel Position

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Wausau, WI on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure positive outcomes. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, adaptable, and experienced in acute care hospital settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a medical-surgical unit.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to physicians and the care team.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to provide patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and health management strategies.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Wisconsin (or compact eligibility).
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS preferred.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
• Compassionate and adaptable approach with experience treating diverse patient populations.
• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
