The Sanctuary Golf Club, a prestigious Member-owned private golf club located on Sanibel Island, FL is accepting resumes for Seasonal Certified Personal Trainers and Fitness Instructors (Independent Contractors) for our upcoming season, October 2025 until May 2026.

The Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor is responsible for upholding the exceptional standards of The Sanctuary by providing quality personal training and fitness classes to Members of the Club. This is a seasonal, Independent Contractor position only.

Join us in promoting health and wellness in the serene surroundings of Sanibel Island, Florida. The Wellness Center is a spectacular 5,000 square foot facility with a 1,800 square foot fitness room housing cardio and strength training equipment. There is also a dedicated stretching room, a 900 square foot studio, a spa with two treatment rooms, appointed locker rooms and a heated sports pool. We look forward to welcoming passionate fitness professionals to join us this season.

Competitive compensation as an Independent Contractor:

• Personal Training: $50 per 30-minute session, $72.25 per 60-minute session
• Group Fitness Class: $70 per class

Requirements

• Conduct personalized training sessions for Club Members, focusing on individual fitness goals and wellness plans.
• Lead group fitness classes with enthusiasm and expertise, ensuring a motivating and safe environment for participants.
• Create dynamic and engaging workout routines tailored to the diverse needs and enjoyment of Club Members.
• Evaluate participants' physical fitness and keeps track of their progress.
• Offer guidance on proper exercise techniques and wellness practices to promote overall health and fitness.
• Provide one-on-one or small group fitness instruction to Members desiring a program tailored to their specific needs.
• Provide equipment usage instructions, makes necessary adjustments. answers questions about proper techniques and fitness.

Education and Experience

• Certification from a recognized and accredited program such as: NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), ACE (American Council on Exercise) or AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America).
• One to two years of experience as a Personal Trainer and/or Fitness Instructor and/or college degree earned in health/fitness-related field.
• Experience in conducting fitness assessments and designing customized workout programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals of varying fitness levels.
• Experience in demonstrating outstanding professionalism, helpfulness, friendliness and customer service skills.
• Dependable, flexible and reliable transportation to and from Sanibel Island.

Licenses and Other Requirements

• First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
• Must sign Independent Contractor Agreement with The Sanctuary and provide required documents including: completed W-9, City of Sanibel Occupational License, Certificate of Liability ($1M limit).
