To develop and implement a distribution strategy for Canopius in Australia & Pacific, in collaboration with the Country Head of ANZ, Regional Head of Distribution, and Underwriting teams, to support long-term business growth.
 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Underwriting to build business plans with key brokers and MGAs, leveraging Canopius products and services.
  • Drive growth objectives, initiatives and sales campaigns to increase Canopius’ visibility and relevance with trading partners.
  • Develop and maintain detailed profiles of brokers and MGAs, including portfolio insights and go-to-market strategies.
  • Build relationship maps to connect underwriters with key broker contacts and support pipeline access and management.
  • Align growth goals with brokers and MGAs, acting as a point of escalation internally and externally.
  • Report and communicate alignment of goals at a regional level.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with brokers and underwriting teams to monitor progress, KPIs and adjust strategies.
  • Maintain and communicate detailed opportunity assessment with key brokers and assist with the delivery of the objectives where we have strategic agreements in place
  • Provide update on market trends, feedback on Canopius strategy, update on competition position and actions in the market at ANZ LT & to Regional Head of Distribution.
  • Provide market intelligence on new business opportunities and assist underwriters with collecting / secure information needed to make underwriting decisions.
  • Work with FPA to develop standard reporting templates and dashboards for producer, underwriting, and distribution performance.
  • Engage with underwriting teams on key renewals 120 days in advance to align on strategy.
  • Set financial and operational goals in coordination with leadership, focusing on new business, renewal, rate/exposure growth, and quote ratios.
  • Facilitate regular meetings by region and business segment to identify gaps and develop mitigation plans.
  • Promote a client-centric culture in underwriting and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Represent Canopius externally to enhance market reputation, including at conferences and Lloyd’s events.

Qualifications

  • Successful and profitable track record.
  • A proven leader with skills in building and developing a team, managing priorities, and thinking strategically.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on data and risk assessment and ability to make a positive impact on the long-term success of the overall business in planning, organization, and development.
  • Good communicator, both verbally and written.
  • Good computer skills including MS office.
  • Knowledge of the Lloyd’s market and international markets
