Position Purpose

The Junior Data Analyst supports the data services team by collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data to help drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Data Services, this entry-level role will focus on learning key data processes, tools, and analytics methodologies while contributing to basic reporting and data quality initiatives. This role serves as a foundational point for growing a career in data analytics within the Credit Union.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for:

• Assisting in the collection, cleaning, and preparation of data from various systems for reporting and analysis.
• Maintaining regular reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Supporting ad-hoc data requests from business units under guidance from senior analysts or BI team members.
• Participating in data validation, reconciliation, and error detection tasks.
• Learning and applying basic SQL queries, Excel functions, and BI tools.
• Documenting data sources, data dictionaries, and basic data workflows.
• Collaborating with the Business Intelligence team on small-scale projects.
• Participating in training and development to build proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

Assumes responsibilities for related duties as required or assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Education/Certification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field required.
• 0–2 years of experience in data or business analytics (internships or academic projects acceptable).

Skills/Abilities:             

• Foundational understanding of data structures and reporting.
• Basic knowledge of Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Curious mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from feedback.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
