Pay Range: $23.81 – $35.72 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some variability for early testing or clinic needs; occasional coverage as requested)

About the Role:
Join our Pulmonology/Respiratory Care team as a Respiratory Therapist and help patients breathe easier. You’ll perform testing, deliver respiratory treatments, educate patients and families, and keep our clinic safe and efficient. This role blends hands-on clinical care with patient teaching in a supportive outpatient setting.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform respiratory assessments; document vitals, histories, and symptoms.
• Administer therapies (nebulized meds, MDI with spacer education, oxygen therapy).
• Set up and monitor noninvasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP) per protocol.
• Conduct diagnostic testing: spirometry, lung volumes, DLCO, 6-minute walk tests, and oximetry; ensure daily calibration and quality control.
• Prepare orders, schedule tests, track results, and relay provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient education for asthma/COPD action plans, inhaler technique, smoking cessation resources, and home equipment care.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and a clean, safe clinic environment; follow infection control standards.
• Document accurately in the EMR; support phone/portal messages and care coordination.
• Assist with in-clinic procedures within scope and training.

Qualifications:
• Current NBRC credential: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required.
• Active Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or eligibility to obtain upon hire).
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• 1–2 years of clinical RT experience preferred; new grads welcome.
• Comfortable with EMR documentation, patient teaching, and teamwork.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality control in testing and treatment.
