SUMMARY
The SBA Manager is responsible for administering the Bank’s program loans (SBA, BancAlliance, BHG), discounter relationship loans (KLC and Waterstreet), and participation purchased loans by overseeing origination, servicing, and liquidation processes. Acting as the main liaison with the U.S. Small Business Administration, this role ensures applicant eligibility, compliance with policies, and strong relationships with all stakeholders. Key duties include evaluating creditworthiness, supporting credit analysis, developing proposals, and guiding staff through loan processes. Continuous learning and risk assessment are essential to enhance banking operations and customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer the Bank’s SBA loan programs as well as other program loans (BancAlliance, BHG, KLC, Waterstreet, and participation loans), overseeing origination, servicing, and liquidation processes.
- Act as the primary liaison with the U.S. Small Business Administration and manage relationships with internal and external customers to support the Bank’s integrity and brand.
- Screen loan applicants and referral sources for SBA eligibility and creditworthiness in alignment with bank and SBA policies.
- Manage the SBA eligibility certification process and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures for SBA and other program loans.
- Assist in credit analysis and preparation of loan and credit presentations for all types of loans, including gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial information on customers and portfolios.
- Make structural recommendations and decisions regarding credit extensions and assess risk for SBA and other program loans to support the Bank’s strategic goals.
- Develop accurate written proposals and loan presentations that adhere to the Bank’s credit window, policies, and acceptable terms and pricing.
- Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and support to staff and assist loan officers and analysts with loan packaging, underwriting, documentation, closings, and servicing.
- Evaluate complex financial information to determine customer stability, repayment ability, collateral coverage, and risk relative to industry standards and projected cash flow.
- Continuously learn and apply new SBA and bank rules, policies, and methods to enhance commercial banking operations and customer service.
- Required, reliable attendance is required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a 4-year college or university preferred and 3+ years related experience.
- Preferred relevant certifications.
