Salary Range:    $16.80 - $20.80 Hourly

Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Audit daily revenue records and keep effective internal and accounting controls in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Tribal laws and regulations. Maintain general ledger information for retail operations.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports Directly to:               

Accounting Manager

 

Other Important Contacts:     

Controller, Chief Financial Officer, Accounting Manager, department Supervisors and Managers of all Nooksack Business entities, employees of all Nooksack Business entities, all employees of the Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency, external and internal auditors.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Audits revenue for assigned departments.

  2. Prepares entries for recording of revenues.

  3. Maintains inventory control records for controlled documents.

  4. Creates, organizes and disseminates data to authorized entities in the format required.

  5. Maintains information, files and records to internal controls and standards.

  6. Executes audits of necessary records to insure that pertinent policies and procedures are adhered to.

  7. Reports errors and deviations in compliance with established company procedures and governing agency regulations to the Revenue Audit Supervisor, Accounting Manager, Cage Manager or TGA.

  8. Provides accurate and timely documentation and reporting of department activities and status as requested.

  9. Initiates, implements and follows through on all procedures designed to provide proper auditing and controls.

  10. Conducts necessary research into departmental operation in close coordination with management to determine process steps which result in audit documents.

  11. Maintains the organization and confidentiality of pertinent records and reports. Maintains an organized filing system for proper storage of records.

  12. Operates a personal computer for tracking, audit analysis and preparation of reports.

  13. Determines and seeks out personal training to improve existing skills and acquire skills necessary to improve productivity.

  14. Works harmoniously with fellow employees, casino management and promotes employee service as a priority.

  15. Other job related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS 

Required:

  1. Minimum of one year casino revenue/income audit experience.

  2. Must be 21 years of age or older.

  3. Ability to obtain and maintain a Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency License and Class III Washington State Gaming License. 

  4. Demonstrated ability to design and present word processing documents, spreadsheets and other financial and text files independently.

Preferred:

  1. Previous general accounting experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Shared office environment with distractions by outside interference (conversations, telephones, etc.).

  2. Occasionally required to work in loud, crowded and smoke filled casino environment.

  3. Will be monitored by Surveillance cameras.

  4. May be required to investigate old files outside in dusty environment.

  5. Must produce reports under specific time constraints set by, state,  federal and/or casino personnel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Sit at desk working on a computer for long periods of time.
