Finance & Operations Officer — Job Posting

Minnesota Housing Partnership (MHP) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance & Operations Officer to join our Central Services team. This full-time role combines finance, operations, HR, IT coordination, and board/event support to ensure smooth organizational operations and strong compliance with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes in Unanet, ensuring accuracy and compliance.  Invoice processing and matching.

- Support month-end close, reconcile benefits invoices to payroll registers; investigate and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile corporate credit card statements; track receipts and follow up on missing documentation. Generate finance reports from Unanet (e.g., AP aging, vendor spend, budget vs. actuals.)

- Audit preparation, vendor onboarding, and procurement activities.  Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of PBC lists, pulling samples, and responding to documentation requests. 

- Oversee office logistics, vendor management, records retention, and cross-department projects.

- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll backup.

- Provide IT helpdesk triage and coordinate with MHP’s IT consultant for escalations.

- Coordinate board meetings, executive support, and organization-wide events.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt, mostly remote position based in Saint Paul, MN with a hybrid work arrangement.

Salary range for a Finance and operations manager: $60,000 -$72,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications


- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- 3+ years relevant financial/operational experience, including government grants accounting and compliance (nonprofit experience preferred).

- Knowledge of bookkeeping, AP/AR, and grant compliance; familiarity with Unanet a plus.

- Proficiency with Microsoft 365; Salesforce experience preferred.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
