About the Role
MCHC is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Certified Medical Assistant to serve as our Infection Prevention Coordinator, leading infection prevention and employee health initiatives across all MCHC sites. This role plays a key part in protecting the health and safety of staff, patients, and visitors while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate infection prevention policies and procedures
- Monitor infection risks, track data trends, and prepare reports for leadership and regulatory review.
- Serve as point of contact for employee health regarding contagious conditions exposure management and return-to-work guidance.
- Partner with Environmental Services and clinical teams to maintain safe and sanitary care environments.
- Coordinate immunization and TB testing programs (e.g., influenza, COVID-19, RSV)
- Maintain accurate staff immunization and testing records in compliance with HRSA, OSHA, and CDC.
- Lead or assist in outbreak investigations and collaborate with public health partners.
- Participate in respirator fit testing, training, and incident management response.
- Educate staff, providers, and patients on infection prevention standards and emerging trends

Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Current BLS certification
Preferred:
- 2+ years of experience in infection prevention, quality improvement, or related healthcare field
