How You Will Help
- Purchase commodities and services to meet ASC’s operational needs. Assure purchase orders are processed, and quality materials and services are received in a timely manner. Identify and select suppliers and contractors with demonstrated cost and delivery performance supporting ASC’s requirements. Ensure all purchases are in accordance with company procedures while following all required approval authorizations. Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with department managers and plant personnel to clarify need for purchased parts or services. Work closely with Maintenance and Production teams to communicate and verify all parts and services are compliant with ASC standards. Constantly develop and recognize the quality, delivery and cost performance of suppliers. Ensure accuracy and timely communication is provided to stakeholders.
- Work closely with Quality and Engineering personnel to communicate and verify all systems and product requirements for ISO-9002 compliance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s MRP system and Purchasing functions. Work with Accounts Payable team to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Review, develop and submit to the Department Manager for approval all significant product and/or material stocking, WIP or supplier delays which might be expected to impact performance-to-schedule or profitability goals on the products/processes.
- Provide technical and administrative support to the Department Manager as requested regarding all aspects of MRP, inventory management, supplier performance etc.
- Identify opportunities to support annual cost saving initiatives and support continuous improvement projects. Monitor spend for assigned commodities to ensure compliance with plant budgets.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Advanced degree in related subject and/or profesional certification (APICS, NAPM, etc.) preferred
- 5+ years hands-on experince as a buyer, inventory control coordinator, MRP/Inventory Analyst, or similar position
- Experience in an ISO-9002 and/or MIL-Q-9858 environment would be favorable.
- Must be computer literate at a professional level, MS Office, MRP and planning/scheduling software systems and be able to communicate with other employees regarding purchased quality, schedule, cost, and inventory control topics
- Training and technical knowledge in various MRP, APS and master scheduling programs and theories would be favorable
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with daily involvement on the production floor
