How do our Payroll Analysts Drive Impact?

  • Payroll Processing: Coordinates and administers activities involved processing weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for close to 2,000 multi-state employees. Activities include: verifying time and punch information; ensuring time off is recorded; reviewing inaccuracies or discrepancies with managers; loading additional incentive and supplemental pay; validating deductions; and reviewing payroll preview data for timely payroll close.
  • Employee Data Administration: Adjust and audit employee rates of pay, time profiles, and tax profiles.  Review and process employment verifications, levies, garnishments, benefits, deductions.  Generate and load data files to update groups of employees.  Act as an expert navigating employee profile and information within HRIS.
  • Payroll Auditing and Compliance: Conduct routine audits of payroll data to verify accuracy and adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures to resolve payroll issues. Maintain audit records for payroll transactions.
  • Backend Payroll Setup and Configuration: Design and configure payroll systems using ADP Lyric to align with organizational requirements and integrate with other HR and financial systems. Implement and test payroll software updates and enhancements. Work with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze payroll data to recognize trends, detect anomalies, and identify areas for process improvement. Generate comprehensive payroll reports and share findings with management. Offer insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support payroll optimization.
  • Process Improvement and Optimization: Assess current payroll processes and identify possibilities for automation and increased efficiency. Develop and apply best practices for payroll processing and auditing. Lead projects focused on streamlining payroll operations and enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to payroll staff regarding new systems, processes, and compliance requirements. Create and update documentation outlining payroll procedures and guidelines. Serve as a resource on payroll-related matters and offer guidance to HR and finance teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure continued compliance within payroll practices. Evaluate and address risks associated with payroll processing and data management. Establish and implement policies and procedures to safeguard payroll data and maintain confidentiality.
  • Payroll and Tax Management: Partner with ADP management teams to validate and process Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC) and Liens and Garnishment management, review quarterly filings and respond inquiries in ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Union Dues and Deductions Management: Manage the setup and configuration of union dues and deductions within ADP Lyric. Conduct scheduled audits to confirm the accurate calculation and processing of union dues and deductions. Process and remit union dues and deductions according to specified timelines. Maintain comprehensive records of all union-related transactions and ensure compliance with applicable agreements and regulations. Collaborate with union representatives to address any issues or discrepancies related to dues and deductions.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Extensive experience (3+ years) in payroll administration, with experience processing payroll for large, multi-state employee groups
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced payroll system configuration and integration, preferably using ADP Lyric or similar platforms
  • Strong background in payroll auditing, compliance, and risk management, including routine reviews and policy development
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to produce actionable insights and recommendations for process optimization
  • Experience implementing and overseeing union dues and deduction management, including audit procedures and collaboration with union representatives
  • Exceptional attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to train, support, and guide payroll and HR staff
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
