Research Associate - Full-Time bei University of Pittsburgh

The University of Pittsburgh is soliciting applications for the position of Research Associate, for duties performed in the laboratory of Dr. Hanna Salman at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. These duties will be carried out as part of an ongoing research project aimed at understanding and characterizing the effects of environmental stress on bacterial non-genetic memory. The work utilizes microfluidic devices designed and fabricated in our lab to track bacterial growth and division dynamics, and measure gene expression for tens of generations. It also involves image analysis to determine how the state of the cell changes over time and infer cellular memory from these measurements.

We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in biological physics, or biotechnology, and postdoctoral experience in biological physics research.
