Role Overview:
We are seeking 4 skilled I&E Technicians to support a major project in Orange, TX. This project will last through the end of 2025.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and adept at diagnosing and repairing instrumentation, electrical systems, and control processes. You’ll work closely with engineers, operators, and vendors to keep process systems running reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and electrical equipment.
- Diagnose problems quickly and take ownership to implement corrective action; consult with equipment vendors as needed.
- Troubleshoot control loops, electronic controls, valves, transmitters, and associated instrumentation.
- Utilize loop drawings, schematics, ladder logic, electrical one-line diagrams, and P&ID drawings for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Set up and operate shop tools, diagnostic test equipment, and hand tools for installation and maintenance.
- Conduct evaluation tests on valves, motors, instruments, and related components; document results accurately.
- Proficiently troubleshoot 120-volt AC controls and research material specifications, testing methods, and repair approaches.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with site procedures and expectations.
- Collaborate with teams to solve problems, implement improvements, and support process optimization.
- Education/Experience:
- Five (5) years of process instrumentation/electrical maintenance experience in the process industry, OR
- Two (2) years of industry maintenance experience plus an associate’s degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Technology.
- Certification:
- Proof of NCCER (Instrumentation) certification required prior to employment.
- Active TWIC Card
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in loop drawings, schematics, ladder logic, electrical one-line diagrams, and P&ID drawings.
- Knowledgeable in maintaining control loops, electronic controls, valves, and transmitters.
- Proficient in troubleshooting 120-volt AC controls.
- Communication:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to read, speak, and write English.
Personal/Physical Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift to 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, walk, bend, and stoop.
- Must wear all required PPE, including respirator usage when required.
- Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
- Able to operate iPad and computer for documentation and diagnostics.
Work Environment/Availability:
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Additional Attributes:
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to diagnostics and problem-solving.
- Comfortable collaborating with equipment vendors and multi-disciplinary teams.
