Description
• Provides general physical examinations, medical evaluations and screening to clinic patients.
• Direct patient care in accordance with CentroMed’s scope of services
• Shares responsibility in joint practice collaboration with the VP & Chief Medical Officer in providing on-going supervision of patient treatment modalities, progress and compliance.
• Provides diagnostic, treatment, and preventive medicine as indicated by mid-level Delegation protocol and/or VP & Chief Medical Officer consultation, in accordance with Texas State Board of Medical Examiner's Standing Delegation Order 193.1-193.8.
• Uses appropriate clinical judgment in treatment of patients in emergency situations when the physician is not immediately available. Such treatment is followed by physician consultation and/or referral as soon as possible.
• Makes appropriate specialty referrals when necessary, seeking prior consultation with on-site physician if needed.
• Assists in maintaining medical inventory.
• Participates in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
• Demonstrates competence with patients aged 0 and older.
• Understands and upholds CentroMed’s mission and values relating to ethics, integrity, safety, corporate responsibility and objectives

• Actively participates in maintaining high levels of excellent customer service internally and externally

• Ensures the protection and security of all personal, confidential and identifiable information in a professional and responsible manner and carries out all measures to prevent from unauthorized disclosures. Demonstrating and maintaining the standards and requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Assists in training new employees in performing their job duties as requested.
• Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Performs other duties assigned.
Requirements
Nurse Practitioner
- RN licensed to practice in the State of Texas and graduated from
- an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
- ANA Certification.
- Approval by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners to practice
- in the State of Texas.
Physician Assistant
- Graduate from an approved Certified Physician's Assistant
- Program, and certified to practice in the State of Texas.
- Registered in Texas (see Texas State Board of Medical Examiners
- Physician's Assistant Chapter 185.3 Registry.
Experience
- Family practice or community health setting
- (preferred)
- Knowledge of Hispanic cultural influences/practices and a general
- understanding of the population being served.
