Description
This position is responsible for maintaining the Women’s Advocates’ facilities and grounds in a clean and orderly manner. The Lead Facilities Associate proactively addresses facilities’ needs to help ensure that all victim/survivors and staff are able to be in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
This position is full-time, Monday - Friday on site in our location in Saint Paul, MN.
This position is budgeted at $25.52/hour and is benefit eligible.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead Duties
1. Maintains inventory of supplies and places orders for the facilities team according to the budget.
2. Manages work orders for contracted maintenance worker.
3. Manages the company van & schedules maintenance as needed.
4. Creates and manages a shared calendar, delegating tasks to specific facilities employees.
5. Conducts resident room safety inspections.
6. With regard to larger building projects, assists with project management and coordination of work of contracted workers and vendors in partnership with the Director of Operations & HR.
Facilities Associate Duties
1. Completes work orders.
2. Maintains stock of resident personal supplies and reorders when necessary.
3. Assesses need for donations and assists when they are delivered.
4. Works with volunteer groups on internal and external projects.
5. Washes & maintains linen inventory.
6. Packages towels, blankets, linens, and miscellaneous personal care items as needed.
7. Assists arriving and departing residents with storing, labeling, and packing belongings.
8. Assists with conducting monthly facilities inspection with maintenance staff and documenting necessary repairs.
9. Participates as directed in safety inspections of resident bedrooms in partnership with program staff as per the policy.
10. Light maintenance work, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to changing lightbulbs, replacing batteries in smoke detectors/CO monitors, grounds maintenance, assisting maintenance with moving items and other projects as directed.
11. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Shelter & Housing Services.
Requirements
1. Demonstrated experience with housekeeping duties and minor repair skills needed in a residential facility.
2. Ability to keep current on organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
3. Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with residents.
4. Good communication and organizational skills.
5. Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks and be self-directed.
6. Ability to handle client information with complete confidentiality.
7. Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
8. Ability to prioritize, handle a variety of tasks and be self-directed, while being responsive to changes as they come up.
9. Demonstrated experience with or commitment to intercultural development and anti-racism work in the workplace.
10. Commitment to actively contributing to the organization being a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
11. Physically ambulatory and able to negotiate multiple stairways.
12. Computer literacy (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
13. Must have a driver’s license and current auto insurance.
14. Criminal background check required for this position.
