Description

 

The Associate Packaging Engineer provides technical and operational support in the development, testing, and implementation of packaging solutions for the haircare product portfolio. The role involves assisting in packaging design and material selection, conducting testing, supporting line trials, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful commercialization of packaging components. 


Packaging Design and Development 

  • Assist with component design and material selection for bottles, tubes, closures, labels, cartons, and shippers. 
  • Maintain and update specifications, test results, and technical documentation in compliance with company standards. 

Testing and Validation 

  • Support packaging line trials to verify manufacturability and compatibility with filling and labeling equipment. 
  • Support performance, transportation, and compatibility testing to confirm package integrity and product protection. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Coordinate with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality, and external suppliers to move projects from concept through launch. 
  • Provide technical input during cross-functional meetings. 

Sustainability and Improvement 

  • Identify opportunities for packaging simplification, cost optimization, and sustainability improvements. 
  • Consider long-term implications of packaging choices for scalability and compliance. 
Requirements

 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Working knowledge of plastics, tubes, bottles, closures, cartons, and secondary packaging. 
  • Familiarity with ISTA, ASTM, or similar packaging testing protocols preferred. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Hands-on approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. 
  • 1–2 years of experience in packaging (internship or industry), preferably in consumer goods, cosmetics, or personal care.
