Overview:

Magnolia Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a skilled Overnight ICU Veterinary Technician. 

 

Position Overview:

 

As a vital member of our critical care team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to animals requiring intensive monitoring and treatment during overnight hours. You’ll collaborate closely with our veterinarians and support staff to provide the highest standards of care, compassion, and communication.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Anesthesia Monitoring and Management: You are confident in your ability to safely induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia in urgent and emergent contexts.
  • Medical Management: You have direct experience with acute and chronic conditions—stabilizing patients, implementing treatment plans, and recognizing subtle changes in clinical status.
  • Client Communication: You provide clear, compassionate education to pet families, supporting them through complex and often stressful situations.
  • Independent Practice: You work with integrity, manage competing priorities, and maintain focus during overnight shifts with minimal supervision.
  • CPR and Emergency Response: You are trained and responsive when moments count, and you’re comfortable leading or assisting with resuscitation protocols.
  • Collaboration with Referring Veterinarians: We maintain open, timely communication with our referring partners, sharing updates and outcomes to support continuity of patient care.
Requirements: 
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in South Carolina or eligible for licensure. (Minimum of 2 years experience in a veterinary hospital, with ICU and anesthesia experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in anesthesia and medical management of diverse veterinary cases.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide outstanding client education.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts independently, with sound clinical judgment.
  • Commitment to compassionate and high-quality care for every patient.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Able to stay calm under pressure in emergency situations.
  • Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to lift 40+ lbs and be comfortable handling cats and dogs of all sizes.
