The Opportunity
As the Vice President of our Program Management Office, you will be a strategic leader responsible for implementing best practices in program and project management across Neumo's entire portfolio. You will ensure that our projects align perfectly with our business objectives and are delivered with maximum efficiency and strategic value. This is a pivotal role for an experienced executive who can lead large, complex initiatives and drive continuous improvement within a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
What you will do
- Set the strategic vision: Define and implement the PMO's strategy and framework, establishing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), standards, and best practices for our project lifecycle.
- Provide executive oversight: Offer high-level oversight for complex, high-priority programs and projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage the portfolio: Collaborate with executive leadership to govern, prioritize, and monitor Neumo's portfolio of initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Lead a high-performing team: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of project and program managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Report on performance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the PMO's performance, progress, and challenges to senior management.
- Oversee financial management: Handle budgetary planning, resource allocation, and cost tracking to optimize operational efficiency.
- Mitigate risk: Proactively identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Champion process improvement: Stay current with modern project management practices and champion their integration to drive continuous delivery improvements.
- Manage stakeholders: Act as a central point of contact for and build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, sales, and government agency clients.
What you will bring
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project and program management, with several years in a senior PMO leadership role.
- Strong business acumen and proven experience translating company-wide strategy into actionable initiatives.
- Deep expertise in various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to influence executive leadership and navigate complex organizational structures.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building trust and managing expectations with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of using data to drive decision-making.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a master's degree is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) are a plus.
