  • Onboarding & Orientation:
    • Leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of onboarding and clinical orientation for newly hired NPs.
    • Conducts clinical training sessions covering assessment, documentation, EMR use, symptom management, billing, and regulatory practices.
    • Coordinates effective NP field precepting with corresponding Branch locations. Will serve as a field preceptor to support hands-on
    • learning and skill development (depending on logistics/geography).
    • Evaluates the clinical readiness and competency of new NPs during and post orientation.
    • Updates and refines onboarding materials in alignment with evidence-based standards and organizational practices
  • Ongoing Clinical Education & Support:
    • Conducts competency assessment visits.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert and clinical resource to all NPs, offering consultative guidance on complex care situations, symptom management, and best practices.
    • Conducts skills refreshers, training updates, and educational in-services in response to evolving needs and clinical trends.
    • Provides 1:1 or small group coaching for NPs as performance or knowledge gaps are identified.
    • Participates in developing and disseminating clinical protocols, quality initiatives, and education related to performance improvement.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:
    • Partners with NP leadership, medical leadership, and branch leadership to support clinical quality and NP engagement.
    • Offers structured feedback on NP performance and integration to branch and education leadership.
    • Ensures new NPs are integrated into interdisciplinary care teams and equipped to contribute to IDG meetings and goal-of-care discussions.
    • Audits documentation to assess accuracy and compliance, using findings to inform targeted training.
    • Maintains personal clinical competency through continued education and, when needed, direct patient care.

Qualifications


Qualification Requirements
• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) required; DNP preferred.
• Current and active NP licensure in North Carolina and South Carolina.
• Certification in hospice and palliative care (or obtain within six months of hire).
• Unrestricted DEA registration and BLS certification.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in hospice/palliative care, internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, oncology, or related fields.
• Prior experience in clinical training, mentoring, or professional development preferred.
