POSITION SUMMARY
Manages a variety of general office activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Functions Statement(s)- Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures such as billing office and front personnel, information management, filing systems, and other clerical services related to the billings office, front desk reception, and call center.
- Maximizes office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications.
- Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
- Establishes uniform correspondence procedures and style practices.
- Formulates procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
- Initiates cost reduction programs.
- Reviews clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Prepares activities reports for guidance of management.
- Coordinates activities of various clerical departments or workers within department.
- Maintains contact with customers and outside vendor – ability to answer all billing and insurance questions as they come through.
- Oversees coding for all specialties and answers any questions
- Makes sure all billing guidelines are followed for Medicare/Medicaid and contracted payors
- Researches new procedures and checks LCD’s, NCD’s and payor guidelines. Trains staff as needed.
- Checks quarterly NCCI edits and alerts team of changes
- Reviews yearly ICD-10 and CPT and makes changes as needed
- Monitors payment and charge postings – sends corrected claims as needed when errors are found
- Monitors follow-up buckets and works accounts that need to be escalated
- Sets up refunds to patients and insurances – gives to Payroll/HR Manager to cut check and mail.
- Monitors recoup notices and verifies they are being worked and make sure they are being appealed timely
- Sets up Providers, insurances, load fee schedules and fixes registration errors.
- Troubleshoots issues, tracks cases and resolved dates for Athena
- Runs reports as needed
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
- Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Experience: 5 years of experience in multi-specialty, healthcare billing required.
Computer Skills:Must be computer literate. Experience in Athena preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Certified Coder Preferred
