Position Summary

West Penn Heavy Haul is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help grow and strengthen our presence in the Appalachian Basin. Reporting directly to the District Manager, this role focuses on building long-term relationships within the oil and gas industry, with a strong emphasis on rig-moving operations. The ideal candidate understands what it means to meet the needs of the customer, create opportunities for our crews and equipment between rig moves, and open doors with key decision-makers across the region.

This position requires a driven, relationship-oriented professional who can combine industry knowledge with strategic sales skills to expand market share and increase revenue.


Responsibilities

  • Build, grow, and maintain relationships with clients in the oil and gas industry, with focus on rig-moving operations
  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers at target companies to establish new partnerships
  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored service solutions that align with West Penn Heavy Haul’s capabilities
  • Generate opportunities for service work between rig moves to maximize utilization of crews and equipment
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand our presence across PA, OH, and WV
  • Deliver proposals, quotes, and presentations that clearly communicate value and capabilities
  • Work closely with the District Manager and operations teams to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
  • Track and report market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to identify new growth opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, activities, and opportunities
  • Represent West Penn Heavy Haul at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of business development or outside sales experience in the Appalachian Basin oil and gas industry
  • Strong network and established contacts within the rig-moving portion of operations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, engage, and build trust with decision-makers
  • Proven success in consultative selling and managing long-term client relationships
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
  • Willingness to travel frequently throughout PA, OH, and WV (overnight stays as needed)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean background check required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
