The role 
 
The Business Operations Assistant supports the smooth running of Opencast’s
Newcastle HQ, ensuring the office provides a welcoming, efficient and professional
environment for colleagues and visitors. The role balances front-of-house
responsibilities with administrative support and contributes to wider initiatives that
make our workplaces engaging and inclusive.
Key activities
 
 
Essential experience  
 
We’ll want you to demonstrate some experience, but you don’t need to have had the job title to apply. 
 
In your CV and interview, please show how you have:  
 
 Reception and front-of-house: Act as the first point of contact for visitors and
callers, creating a positive and professional first impression.
• Office coordination: Support the day-to-day running of the Newcastle HQ,
ensuring the workplace is clean, organised and well-equipped.
• Administrative support: Carry out administrative tasks such as managing
documents, coordinating suppliers, and supporting business operations
processes.
• Event support: Assist with the planning and delivery of events, including
occasional evening cover.
• Project involvement: Contribute to wider initiatives including STEM
workshops, work experience placements, and cross-team collaborations with
Marketing and Internal Communications.
• Team support: Work closely with the wider Business Operations team to
deliver seamless workplace and operational support.

Salary 
 
People team level 1 salary range: £27,000 - £34,000

Where you’ll work 
 
Because of the nature of this role, you'll work will primarily be full time at our wonderful office in Hoults Yard. There may be occasional travel between our hub locations.
