A bit about the role
‘Meeting new people. Seeing new places. Doing new things.’ That’s what our Lisalanna Short Breaks services are all about. These breaks offer disabled children and young people the chance to have fun, gain independence, and develop new skills, while giving families a much-needed opportunity to rest and recharge.
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be supporting young people aged 5 to 21 in reaching their full potential. Your role will involve assessing their needs, setting goals, and regularly reviewing their progress. By creating a safe, fun, and stimulating environment, you’ll contribute to their overall development and well-being.
You’ll take part in a wide range of activities, both at the service and out in the community. These include trips to local shops, parks, the cinema, soft play centres, youth clubs, the beach, swimming, and more. You’ll also support daily routines, help develop life skills, provide personal care, and administer medication—following appropriate training.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in a care setting who’s ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll manage risk in a way that empowers young people and builds resilience, while ensuring their safety. You’ll be a strong role model, demonstrating high standards of person-centred practice and solid social care values.
In return, we offer excellent opportunities for progression within our organisation. You’ll receive a thorough induction and ongoing training, and we’ll enrol you in the qualifications needed to thrive in the industry. Regular supervision, team meetings, and a supportive work culture will ensure you feel part of the team. Once you’ve gained the relevant experience and qualifications, you’ll be ready to progress to the next stage of your career—with our full support.
