TJT is seeking a Tax Associate to become an integral part of our tax team in a full-time capacity. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as a valued business advisor and deliver industry-focused taxation services to middle market clients. As a Tax Associate, you will work with firm leadership to serve TJT clients and grow the business, having a direct impact on the firm’s success.

As an Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. This position is slated to start in Summer or Fall 2025. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Preparation and review of business and individual tax returns for TJT clients
  • Consult with a variety of closely held businesses in the real estate, manufacturing, hospitality, professional services, private equity, construction, and non-profit industries
  • Develop and demonstrate technical proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement trial balance software
  • Complete allocated tasks to a high standard which meet set reporting and tax standards
  • Conduct federal and state tax research
  • Develop the ability to take on more complex engagements and build relationships to ensure client retention and growth resulting in increased confidence in dealing with clients and knowledge of more in depth tasks

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Become proficient in tax practices including preparation and review of tax returns
  • Proactively grow and develop your technical knowledge and understanding of current accounting and tax regulations and issues
  • Operate as a team player and demonstrate the ability to work productively under pressure and meet anticipated and predetermined deadlines  
  • CPA Certification or active pursuit of CPA certification
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze financial statements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred Field of Study: Accounting
