Reporting directly to our Chief Operations Officer (COO), this newly defined role serves as a key member of the senior operations leadership team. This position will own all purchasing, master planning and production scheduling functions across a multi-site operation while also ensuring consistency and alignment in corporate standards, policies, and KPI’s for all inventory and logistics functions. With oversight for a small yet mighty purchasing and master planning team as well as dotted line accountability over resource planning team members at each location, this position will support strategic growth while ensuring a new level of supply chain excellence at Cambridge Air Solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· COMPANY-WIDE SUPPLY CHAIN EXCELLENCE – As a key leader for CAS’s end-to-end supply chain excellence function, you will develop a demand planning and forecasting function while overseeing all aspects of purchasing, master planning and production scheduling. You will identify and implement best practices, setting new corporate standards, creating policies and establishing KPI’s to achieve increased efficiencies and excellence in supply chain. You will manage a departmental budget and short- and long-term forecasting responsibilities in accordance with strategic and financial goals.
· LEAD + INSPIRE A HIGH-PERFORMING TEAM – Provide day-to-day leadership for two buyers and one master planner with dotted line accountability over site-specific resource planning team members. Determine best internal team structure to support growth and promote a high-level of responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders. Drive a healthy sense of accountability and a mindset of continuous improvement while modeling core values and fostering team collaboration.
· BUILD DEMAND PLANNING FUNCTION – Build and develop demand forecasts tied to sales data, market intelligence and statistical models. Collaborate closely with sales, operations, finance, and production to ensure forecasting accuracy and cross-functional collaboration. Recommend material grades, buying patterns, spot purchase opportunities and other strategies to optimize procurement costs. Create visibility and actionable insights for company leadership.
· ESTABLISH BEST PURCHASING PRACTICES: STRATEGIC SOURCING + SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT – Define and implement best practices for procurement and contracts management. Develop supplier management tools, including criteria for vendor selection, management, assessment, and retention. Champion CI and lean initiatives to improve quality and reduce overall manufacturing and production costs. Manage supplier relations and lead negotiations in a manner consistent with core values.
· OVERSEE MASTER PLANNING & PRODUCTION SCHEDULING – Oversee the translation of demand forecasts and inventory levels into a master production schedule and support ongoing ERP build-out and implementation. Direct all high-level planning and scheduling efforts to achieve production targets. Incorporate real-time data such as machine availability, labor, and WIP to create detailed production schedules and priorities. Partner with plant leadership and production supervisors.
· ESTABLISH BEST PRACTICES: INVENTORY + LOGISTICS – In close partnership with plant leadership and site-specific resource planning managers, you will establish and implement corporate standards, policies and KPI’s for inventory and logistics. Evolve from manual counts to ERP-driven predictive models to balance inventory levels with manufacturing and warehouse capacity. Identify best strategies for inter-company shipments and optimum warehouse utilization.
· SUPPORT NEW PRODUCT EXPANSION – In close partnership with CAS’s senior leadership and sales team, build-out adjacent supplier bases to support new strategic product expansion. Develop business cases as well as appropriate RFP/RFI/RFQ templates and sourcing strategies. Create common sourcing, procurement and contracts management processes that will govern in-bound supply chain and leverage long-term existing relationships in a fair and consistent manner.
Requirements
IS THIS A MATCH FOR YOU?
· You have gained 7-10+ years of progressive purchasing, master planning, production scheduling, inventory, logistics and people leadership experience, including prior know-how and or familiarity embedding lean and continuous improvement principals into supply chain systems.
· Prior experience across a broad base of in industrial components and engineered-to-order products desired. Familiarity with steel, valves, and electrical control purchasing strategies is ideal yet not required.
· You are eager to serve as a hands-on operational leader with the ability and desire to flex between strategic and tactical priorities required. Prior experience in both large and small production facilities desired.
· You bring a solid business acumen with a collaborative approach to negotiation and are tech-savvy. You bring a strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and have optimized these systems for success.
· You understand team and leadership accountabilities in environmental health and safety systems, including policies, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies. You demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and bring experience championing preventative and corrective actions and/or working with a safety committee.
· You’re inquisitive. You are constantly curious and enjoy building best practices and making an impact. You have an appetite and interest in AI and innovation.
· Four-year college degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or related field is required. MBA, advanced degree, or related certifications a plus.

LOCATION & TRAVEL
This is an in-person role based on-site at our HQ location in Chesterfield, Missouri. Frequent commutes to sister facility in Wentzville, Missouri, required. Additional travel required as needed for business needs and professional development.
